Sujet: every day with pain of misery

My name is Diana and I am from Romania,a medium european country known especially for the bad things that happen here:poverty, coruption, former comunist system.

We are all used to these things so we never hope that the situation might improve, this is why I think we suffer a national and odd form of pessimism.

I can’t really say that Romania lies in a sea of misery but comparing to other countries I’ve seen ,mine needs a lot of changes.

Our main goal is succeding in being a part of EU ,which may happen or not in 2007.But the money given to us in order to develop our economy are wasted by politicians on less important issues. To be fair and honest means a great effort these days, especially among them.

The question that every Romanian has in mind is:will the entrance in EU make life better?I saw on TV a survey which showed that a large number of people from Hungary think that since they have been a part of EU changes are slightly noticed

Looking at the educational side, youth has a lot of disadvantages. Most students can’t afford a scholarship or don’t have the financial support for going at international congresses or visiting other countries. Also, the possibilities of being noticed if you are a bright-mind are weak;there aren’t enough chances of showing your talent in doing something. So then, after some time, everybody stops fighting.

Our environment isn’t protected at all.trash is thrown sometimes in public places and the streets are full of wholes.I remember that a Romanian TV channel started an action called’’Adopt a Whole’’.It was quite succesful, people were really tryingto make streets safer, but in the end changes were minute.

Traditional regions begin to fall apart,to be grasped by the new civilisation and in their falling, they drag old customs.
Some people try to stop all these,to make Romania a better place but they are few so all I can hope for is a national wake-up!

P.S: There are probably other countries like mine, maybe even worse and this is quite bad.How can this be solved?I don't think we will find the answer in the next centuries.
