Though the media often portrays todays youth as trendy, gadget-wielding,
metropolitan boys and girls. A nationwide survey such as this reminds us of
how far reality is from this image. Only one out of six Indian youth has a
personal mobile phone or a two-wheeler - possibly, the two most coveted
consumer goods. Only three per cent have an internet connection at home.
This figure goes up to seven per cent if all those who have access to the
internet are included.

Our question to you is how gadget handy are you? Please answer this through
the following questions:
1. Do you own a cell phone or share one with your family? What plan are you
on and what extras do you carry on your plan? (ie text messaging, mp3
player, etx)What do you use your phone for?
2. Do you have internet access in your home? PC, Mac, or laptop? What do you
use the internet for and how often? If not, do you have access to
computers/internet through your school, community center, pubic library,
internet café, etc?
3. Do you own an MP3 player (includes on cell phone), ipod, cd player, or
any such portable music players? What do you listen to? How often? Where do
you listen to them?
4. Do you play videogames? What game systems do you use? Nintendo, PS2, etc.
D you have a gameboy or other portable game system? What games do you play?
5. Do you own a VHS or DVD player? Any that are portable? How often do you
use it and what do you watch on it?
6. Are there any other gadgets you use on a regular basis? Are they commonly
owned where you are from? What are they used for, how often do you use?
