  Hello everyone!

Thank you for taking the leadership and initiative by participating
in this e-consultation. We are grateful to have the support of the
World Bank in implementing this initiative.

My name is Bernise, founder of the Singapore International Youth
Council, which works to catalyse linkages among Singapore youth
organisations, facilitate capacity building, resource development and
to create advocacy channels, for the advancement of Singapore youth.
Some of you might find my name familiar, as I was also involved in e-
consultations with the World Bank and UNFPA in preparation of the WDR
07 and regarding youth & PRSPs respectively (acronyms explained below).

As you're probably aware, the purpose of this e-consultation is
available here (please read if you're not sure!):

It's worth drawing the bigger picture here, because the broadness of
this initiative can easily get confusing. Some bullet points to make
it all digestible:

• This is one part of a broader initiative to develop a framework for
youth engagement in MDGs in ASEAN countries*

• This e-consultation and subsequent framework drafting will lead to
the ASEAN Youth Leadership Forum, April 21-22 Singapore, where we
plan to have the framework document adopted by participating delegates.

• The adopted document will then be submitted to the 5th ASEAN
Ministerial Meeting on Youth (AMMY) in Singapore late April. This
process is designed to build ASEAN ownership of the framework so as
to facilitate its implementation in the various ASEAN countries

• Online segment includes 2 parts: i) E-consultation and ii)
collaborative development of draft framework document

• E-consultation in turn has 2 parts:
SET ONE March 9-12: To surface trends, cases and experiences of
youth involvement (or lack of) in development strategies
comparatively, within and beyond ASEAN

SET TWO March 13-18: To identify ASEAN youth priority issues for
development as well as recommendations for youth involvement in
development strategies

SENDING POSTS: Please remember to include your name and country EACH
time you post. It's hard to remember a lot of new names quickly, so
this will help everyone keep track of who's saying what.

In the next email, I will be sending over the questions for Set One
of our e-consultation.

With the skills, knowledge and passion of everyone on this list, I
look forward to a great e-consultation with great outcomes for MDG
youth engagement in the ASEAN region!

Best
Bernise
