America's Top Government Agencies for Multicultural Business Opportunities Declared
United States Postal Service were today declared as the Top Government Agency for Multicultural Business Opportunities of 2006. Over 500,000 diversity business owners had the opportunity to participate in an online election to determine the Top agencies. The honor extends to another nineteen agencys and is collectively called the Div50.
As minorities gain more buying power and their lifestyles become more affluent, multicultural markets are growing in economic muscle. This in turn attracts more corporations, as they compete for market share in minority communities. The Div20 list has become, by virtue of association, a consumer guide of sorts for women and minority consumers. As a diversity business owner, I appreciate the business we receive from corporate and government buyers; and in turn, when I buy products and services,
either as a company or as a private individual, I am much more likely to buy from the same companies that are supporting my business, or that I know are supporting businesses like mine, said Peter Clarke, owner of Advanced Cleaning Concepts headquartered in Bridgeport, CT.

One of the more celebrated activities of the year is the annual GMMDA Scholarship and Awards Banquet. The proceeds from the banquet, together with contributions from GMMDA vendor partners, are used to provide scholarships to minority high school seniors and college students. Since 1987, the GMMDA
