This project will be administered by One World Foundation Nepal (OWF). OWF is a Nepal-based humanitarian organisation committed towards peaceful brotherhood and human rights. OWF operates at a practical, grassroots level and encourages volunteerism with projects in areas such as education, empowering women, ICT and media.

Nepal is a country where patraichism has existed since its formation. These kind of social structures have become barriers for the development of women. Girls in Nepal often have limited opportunites and a poor quality of life, due to barriers such as limited access to education, early marriages, heavy workloads, and discrimination.

The "Women Involvement in Girl's Education Awareness" project (WIG) will provide opportunities for OWF's female members to consider the importance of education for girls and take action for the empowerment of women.

The WIG project aims to increase the participation of young women and girls from different minorities and backgrounds in the leadership of OWF and in their local communities. From the programmes offered by the WIG project, these young leaders will enhance their potential and increase their facilitation skills for fighting against the existing barriers for women.

The project will allow young women and girls to individually help to raise awareness of the importance of girl's education throughout their communities by their own actions, and also by informing and discussing the issues.
