	Hello! I am Alexandru Balas from Romania, currently a PhD student in Political Science/Conflict Resolution at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in U.S. I am a United Nations Youth Spokesperson for the Millenium Development Goals for 2006-2008. Youth Open House was a great experience on several levels. As an European youth activist who recently moved to the U.S. I got an idea of the youth NGO sector in U.S. and Canada and how it works. Secondly, I got an idea of the relationship between the World Bank and youth NGOs and was pleasantly surprised to see the interest to cooperate with young people. As a conflict resolutioner and facilitator I would say I "stole" a lot of tips and tricks for moving the discussions forward from John Engle who did a great job at facilitating our discussions with the Open Space approach. What did I take out of the event? A lot of people with whom I might work in the future as well as 3 practical ideas to be turned into reality within one year: 1) to set up a YDP-North American chapter 2) to organize a MDGs Awareness Week on my campus 3) to work with youth NGOs in Romania to set up a Youth Voices Chapter in Romania I am a strong believer that networking and platforms for cooperation between youth NGOs are a great opportunity for partnership, getting large-scale projects done effectively and personal/organizatinal enrichment as we learn from each other... I'd recommend all those interested in talking about how to set up a YDP-North America to join the group YDP-North America at http://projects.takingitglobal.org/ydpna so that we could continue the discussion there!
