Everyday we hear children being raped and offenders going free. I have had it and I can't keep quiet anymore. My heart is bleeding for the young girl and her family. All of you must have heard of the rape of the four year old girl now in Nairobi Women Hospital . For those who have not heard, a young girl was taken from her bed at night by a 40 yrs old neighbor who viciously raped her all night in a forest and left her for dead. The girl¢s private organs were terribly damaged and she was bleeding from all over, not to mention the trauma she must be going through. Now she has to go through like three surgeries. Parents are living in fear because their children might fall victims of these crazy people (I can't even get the right word to describe them). Its time we stand up against this inhumanity against our children. These lunatics are being set free for alleged lack of evidence. How much evidence would be needed in such case when it is so obvious the crime was committed against this angel. For how long are our children going to suffer in the hands of these lunatics. For how long will women shed tears for their children, For how long will our hearts be torn by these tragedies befalling our children. It is time to rise up and refuse such treatment, we petition to the government to do something and fast before we raise a generation that is damaged in all ways. The government has to deal with these lunatics mercilessly. We do not want them to go free as has been the case in the past The government has a responsibility over its people. The government should work with humanitarian organization to offer victims legal and moral support. In the wake of the childrens' rights campaign we should all join hands to fight these crime against our children. If robbery with violence, the sentence is death shouldn't rape be treated with the same seriousness because it is also violent. The law makers must take this very seriously and stipulate laws that protect everyone againsts rape be it children, women or men.
