	Hello Youth Action Team members and friends Time has come for the USP to release a long delayed newsletter to all its members. I myself have been wrapped up in projects so I was not able to get a letter out to you sooner. The deadline for submissions is tomorrow. Below is a draft of the Youth Action Team update that will be included in the newsletter. If there are any other major happenings or updates in your world that you think we should include please send them my way before noon tomorrow. Please limit the contribution to 2-3 sentences. Also please let me know if Monday August 21st or Monday August 28th at 7:30pm are available days and times for our next national conference call. The first call since our planning for the World Urban Forum in June. Hope you are all having a great summer. Dan Youth Action Team Update The Youth Action Team continues to build partnerships among young leaders and youth organizations from around the nation. One way that the Youth Action Team engages youth leaders is through strategic organizing of youth participation at key 'sustainability' events around North America. A major effort this season was organizing a US Youth Delegation with representatives from diverse organizations and regions to attend the UN Habitat's World Urban Forum and World Youth Forum in Vancouver, BC from June 15-23. Our delegation joined over 500 youth leaders and 10,000 diplomats, NGOs, local authorities, and the business leaders gathered to discuss the complex issues and practices required for "urban sustainability" Youth had an active role in the entire process and to learn more visit www.eya.ca/wuf/. New to the team are Kevin Kalra, founder of Global Education Network and student at UT Austin, and Farah Hussain, involved in Small Business Education at Alternatives Federal Credit Union in Ithaca New York.
