PROJECT SCOPE AND CHARACTERISTICS
GEOGRAPHIC SCOPE: Talents World shall take on global and local issues affecting youths
"THEMATIC" SCOPE: Talents World events or activities are primarily concerned with - the environment, human rights, economic issues, social issues and the education of youths.
SIZE: Talents World shall exist as a large, multinational body, with offices in many countries (and often multiple branches within a single country), with large full-time and salaried staffs.
More so, in order to achieve her stipulated aims and objectives, Talents World shall exist as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) for youth with the following characteristics.
CHARACTERISTICS
LEVEL OF ORIENTATION:
Charitable Orientation: Talents World involves a top-down paternalistic effort with little participation by the "youth beneficiaries". Her activities are directed toward meeting the needs of poor children/youths.
Service Orientation: Talents World includes activities geared at the provision of education services for youths in which programs are designed by the organization and youths are expected to participate in its implementation and in receiving the service.
Participatory Orientation: Talents World is characterized by self-help projects where members of a community are involved particularly in the implementation of a project by contributing cash, tools, land, materials, labour etc. In the classical community development project, participation begins with the need definition and continues into the planning and implementation stages.
Empowering Orientation: Talents World seeks to help poor young people develop a clearer understanding of the social, political and economic factors affecting their lives, and to strengthen their awareness of their own potential power to control their lives. Here, there is maximum involvement of the youths with Talents World acting as facilitator.
HER LEVEL OF OPERATION:
Talents World shall exist in part as a community based organization and a national / international non-governmental organization
