	Welcome! You have been selected to participate in the Student Voices project with TakingITGlobal. Over the next five weeks, you will be asked to participate in discussions and contribute to a photo blog at least once a week. But don't worry--the process will be interesting and fun. The first theme is already underway--How do you see the world. After you read this email, head to our project website (http://www.takingitglobal.org/studentvoices/ -- you may want to bookmark the site, because you'll be using it a lot!) and read the information on Photovoice and photo blogs. Also, make sure you are familiar with TIG's Terms of Service, and aware that anything you contribute to the project could be used for our final presentation and publication. When you are planning your photoblog picture or pictures for the week, please make sure you: - Submit the images in jpeg or gif format, whether it's directly from your digital camera, or from a picture you've scanned in. - Obtained permission from anyone prominently featured in your picture. This is important! You wouldn't people sticking up pictures of you all over the Internet without your permission, so please, give them the same courtesy. - Make sure you've dated it to correspond with the week's theme. For example, each "week", for the project, ends on Sunday night at midnight Eastern Standard Time (GMT - 5). If you want to submit a picture for Week 1, but the Week is over, simply backdate your photoblog post. For information on how to do this, check out our tutorial on the Student Voices website. If you don't have access to a digital camera, don't worry, but please post comments and discussions anyway! Finally, make sure to keep an eye on the site and your email for changes, and check out the site for a new theme every Monday!
