The mission of the SfGS-UoN is to share in the aims of the World Students Community for Sustainable Development (WSCSD) in seeking to actively promote the incorporation of sustainability and sustainable development at every stage of education, research, business and public policy.

As a partner of the same, we have an extended commitment to provide a student driven dimension towards the realization of the United Nations N Millennium Development Goals in our focus to improve social welfare, reduce poverty and human suffering within our immediate communities.

Graduate and undergraduate students of the University of Nairobi shall be eligible for membership of the group and shall, subject to the approval of the committee, become a member on payment of a registration fee of Kenya shillings 150.00 (US $2.50)

Every member shall pay semi-annually a tentative subscription fee of Kenya shillings 150.00 (US $ 2)

Any member desiring to resign from the group shall submit his/her resignation to the secretary, which shall take effect from the date of receipt of such notice by the secretary.

Forfeiture of membership takes effect if the Steering Committee so recommends at the AGM of the group resolved by a two-thirds (2/3) majority vote of the members present subject to article 8 that such a member should be expelled on the grounds that his/her conduct has adversely affected the reputation or dignity of the group, or that he/she has contravened any of the provisions of this constitution. The steering Committee shall have the power to suspend a member from his/her membership until the next AGM. A member whose expulsion or suspension is proposed shall have the right to address the AGM and by so invite a vote or opinion in defense.

Any person who resigns or is removed from membership shall not be entitled to a refund of his/her subscription or any part thereof or any moneys contributed by him at any time.

Any member who falls into arrears with his/her semi-annually subscription for more than two years shall automatically cease to be a member of the SfGS-UoN and his/her name shall be struck off the register of members. The committee may, however, at its discretion, reinstate such a member on payment of the total amount of subscription outstanding.
