Women Resisting Poverty & Exclusion:
Alternative Visions & Practices
*A National Forum *
May 4-6,
Ottawa, Ontario
The Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women (CRIAW) is
creating a space to collectively explore, reflect, and mobilize around
the issues resulting from women's poverty and social exclusion,
particularly within the Canadian context. It seeks to bring together a
wide range of people into conversation with one another to explore
alternative visions and practices.
Objectives of the National Forum:
*
To review, discuss and strategize on alternative approaches and
models to address women's poverty and exclusion;
*
To facilitate networking amongst Canadian and International
groups
and individuals working on women's poverty and exclusion;
*
To facilitate discussion and strategizing among feminist
organizations around the current social and political climate in
Canada and around the globe.
This forum will offer participants an opportunity to discuss local and
global economies that create opportunities and challenges to women's
active, creative, and critical participation as actors in resisting
poverty and social exclusion. We extend this invitation to feminists of
all ages; researchers, activists, artists.
Further information on the Forum will be posted on our website in
mid-December or contact Indri Pasaribu, Program Officer, at
