Name: Young Canadian Writers for Diversity in Media

In conjunction with Young People's Press, a North American news service that empowers a large network of youth and young adult writers to have a voice in the mainstream media and a space at the table of public opinion, TakingITGlobal presents the Young Canadian Writers for Diversity in Media group.
This group aims to provide support and opportunities for young Canadian writers of ethnic heritage who are interested in having a voice in mainstream media. Members of this group will be provided with ways to get involved in both TIG's online publication, Panorama (http://panorama.takingitglobal.org), and YPP's online e-zine, VerseCity (http://www.versecity.org). In addition, valuable information about how to get published will be accessible: Young People's Press articles have been published in approximately 220 newspapers in Canada and 300 papers in the United States as well as on many Internet sites. Activites such as contests and workshops will also be organized through this group.
