Remaining explosive device in Laos

During the Vietnam War, more than 260 million bombies from cluster bomb have been dropped on the Laotian soil. The estimated failure rate of these sub-munitions under perfect condition is 30% which is 78 million that failed to explode. Now that the Vietnam War ended, Laos is stuck with those bombs that failed to explode. Those bombies are very dangerous because even a 30 years old bomb is able to detonate. The victims of these bombs are usually children. The lao government established the Unexploded bomb ordonance program (Lao UXO) which successfully removed 387,645(0.49%) explosive device. But now, they lack found to continue their clean-up. Also, I’ve been wondering why I didn’t find anything on American government helping lao people to clean their mess. On the United-states embassy in Laos website, they’ve been giving medical support which is great but what about the bombs? What about those kids who lost their arm or leg?
