  Dear Amenze,

I thought of your mail to nice. But I think our interest hereon, is promoting best best practices. Like you rightly said, I don't think there is any political sensation hereon, to the best of my knowledge. We were simply trying to be clarified, the right door to knock, incase of what kind of query and at what time..ok. There wasn't anything in the name of Regional balance and or what ever thing. I am the one who asked about this Regional Representatives issue. Please, I am sure you failed to understand me. But I am glad though, bcos your email has a message in its content.

Once more, we appreciate the young people for their wonderful ideas and exchange.

Look, Amenze, Chantale, Allen, Kola and all the members, some people are yet to understand that meeting and exchanging with people from diverse back ground and a multi-cultural perspective like this, is one of the best ways to learn and acquire knowledge.

YouthRise Management Team, I say more grease to your elbow.

Hello everyone!
To Allen- thanks for sharing the organizational chart with all. It provides clarity on the big picture when it comes to coordination and participation in Youth R.I.S.E.
Reading the recent dialogue by members, I think the worry about not having a lead domiciled in your home country at this time to support activism or provide guidance, is something that can be conquered with the digital age of internet communication. We have immense resources in other parts of the world that are just an e-mail away!
My suggestion at this point is that as we work towards building an active network of young people in the different regions, we should keep in view the purpose for which Youth R.I.S.E was established. I say this because of my experience with establishing youth networks/movements in Nigeria and across Africa. Often, as young people, we get carried away with the politics about who comes from where and where offices/ regional leads should be located.
Nonetheless, I am confident that Youth R.I.S.E will be a model that can be replicated as a best practice and look forward to continued dialogue on harm reduction for young peopl.

Best regards
Amenze Igbinedion

Dear Allen,

I don't know, but I have noticed that I am always the first to comment. But I wish to say that, note should be taken in my comments. If I comment -vely, I should be corrected. But I don't think I have in any instance..lol

I want to say here that you are one of those leaders who will go places. You will certainly reach the level of Obama !! Your email is very convincing and I think any +ve thinker should read and re-read this email. It is a whole package, I repeat a whole package.

We shall be working in collaboration with the IWG. But what I don't understand is their respective regions they cover, and or jurisdictions. For example, I am from Cameroon, and Chantale is in Nigeria, therefore, should I have immediate issues that I need clarifications, should I ask Chantale, or I can equally ask any of the IWG member?

To you Chantale, congratulations again, for being the lone Lady in this powerful network (IWG), I am sure your elbow will always be greased !!

Greetings *Youth RISE *members!

I hope all is well with you. I see the listserve is active with great
conversations, and I think this is great. Thigns have arisen from these
conversations that I would like to address that can be used as a teachable
moment for all of us moving forward with how YouthRISE will grow.

I would like the opportunity to talk about the call for *National Offices:*
**
I am excited to see that this membership has such a great vision, and it is
reflected in your passion and purpose for why you have joined to become a
Youth RISE member.
In institutional building of this network I think we all agree that we must
think strategicallly, meaning our goals and objectives must be *SMART*-
Specific, Measureable, Achieveable, Realistic, and Time Sensitive.

I agree that we need to have point people who have the resources to
strengthen our networks in the regions. This is why Youth RISE created a new
position to tackle the issues that countries deal with, within their
regional locales. The wonderful and the only- *Ms. Chantale Kallas* (
chantale (at) youthrise.org) as you all know and were introduced to is our
Regional Development Coordinator. Her job is over a period of time is make
sure the regions are strong enough to be sustainable to do the advocacy and
capacity-building work so that young people and those that work with young
people are on the same page about the journey we are all on to ensure that
young people live healthy and productives lives, by using harm reduction as
one of those means to doing that.

Once the regions are strong and have reached the goals that have been
accomplished in their development which as we all know takes resources,
funding, and people power we can then establish national leads in each of
the regions which when we do strategic planning with e-consultation with *Youth
RISE *membership, we can set a 3-5 year plan to establish this because we
agree that establishing national leads is important, but we need you as
members to inform us of exactly the issues that are going on in your regions
so we can work together on the supports you will need. Most importantly
regions need to be in communication with each other so that we are all on
the same page and are aware of what is occuring in each the regions so we
can develop best practices!

Chantale therefore manages our *International Working Group:*

Members, this is YOUR steering committee you should be in contstant
communication with the IWG. You exchange information, strategize, organize
around specific efforts using effective tactics to reach your end goals in
your locale. They, like you face similar issues in their own countries and
look to you for support as well; therefore this relationship is very
reciprocal- its acts like a two ways street-you give back to each other. If
you don't know already here are our International Working Group Members-

Mr. Aram Barra- Mexico: aram.barra (at) espolea.org

Dr. Khalil Sakhri - Algeria: sak hri.khalil (at) yahoo.fr

Ms. Anna Koshikova-Ukraine: koshikova (at) network.org.ua

Mr. Dmitri Mikhailenko - Ukraine: dimon_m2003 (at) mail.ru

Mr. Kolawole Oreoluwa - Nigeria: lofuja (at) yahoo.com

Mr. Sujan Jiral  Nepal: sujjaann (at) gmail.com

Ms. Iulia-Veronica Broasca - Romania: broasca.veronica (at) gmail.com

**The IWG is comprised of 12 members, if you don't notice above we only have
7. Members we need to recruit! We will be taking applications for IWG
membership starting in November, which is right around the corner. If you
have any questions about how to become one, or want to learn about the
experience of being an IWG member please e-mail them, as well as Chantale.**

*Please feel free to e-mail myself, Chantale or the network for any
questions, or feedback.*
