The Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS (GYCA), is a youth-led, UNAIDS and UNFPA-supported alliance of over 3,000 young leaders and adult allies working on HIV/AIDS in close to 150 countries.

GYCA was initiated by young participants of the Barcelona and Bangkok International AIDS Conferences in 2002 and 2004, and continues to create opportunities for meaningful participation of young people all over the world in decision-making that affects their lives.

The Delta State Chapter Started In 2007, and implemented the First grant project in 2008. Though the state chapter is small we are working on broadening the group in the state and making the group a house hold name in the state as well.

We hope to spread the coalition through all the 25 LGAs of the state.

The task before us is great and we are confident that the work must go on and soon the unreached corners of the state will be reached, to do that we are working on a research to investigate the impact of the world bank's HAF project in the state, the response and distribution of NGOs, FBOs and CBOs in the state as well as how the SACA program has impacted on the efforts of the civil society in Delta State.

This we want to do so that the ground will be clear for future donors who want to work in the state to have data and information to work with.
