Dear all,
Let me introduce my self. My name is Nelson Tchamo and I am the new NFP to
Mozambique. My involvement with HIV/AIDS and youth issues is in two ways, as
a young person and also as medical student. I have been involved in youth
organization those we organizes several youth and AIDS activities, including
two years project together with UNICEF to protect childrens and young
people to protect their sexual e reproductive health in five rural district
of poor province from Mozambique. Secondly as medical student with
integration of my student union at IFMSA (International Federation of
Medical Students Associations), we organize activities of AIDS prevention
main oriented to young people.
Additionally we are involved in research activities integrated in our
university, and also advocacy using the forum those we have space and
dialogue channels with government institutions and United Nations. As part
of that recently I become part of GTM (Multicultural Technical Working Group
to support fight of HIV/AIDS in Mozambique). This group include government
institutions (health ministry), united nations institutions, civil society
organization, academy institutions, donors agencies; and are responsible to
organize the report the AIDS indicators (trough a national report of AIDS
prevalence: called epidemiology surveillance). More about me you can find at

I attended GYCA Political Advocacy training and currently I am receiving
GYCA small grant to implement my project. So, I would like to hear from your
experience on that.
