In February, the Commission for Social Development will meet for its 46th session on "Promoting full employment and decent work for all". The Commission will discuss shifting trends in employment, as well as policy suggestions for how to promote employment and decent work around the world. This consultation provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to this highly important debate as a report on the results will be delivered to delegates at the Dialogue.
Globalization and rapid technological development have given rise to increased labor mobility, bringing new employment opportunities and new uncertainties. These changes particularly effect youth. Today’s young people are the most educated generation ever, with ever increasing access to markets and communication. At the same time, young people represent about half of the total unemployed global workforce, but only one fifth of the world’s population. As youth are facing this reality, their voice must be part of this debate. So please take a moment to answer these questions for your chance to get your voice heard!
As we want to encourage youth participation in this important discussion, we require those participating in the E-Consultation to be GYAN members. If you would like to register your organization with GYAN, apply here:

The E-consultation will take place from October 18th until November 8th, 2007.
