GLEAN Palau is a partnership between the Global Leaders, Entrepreneurs and Altruists Network, founded by Professor Tom Kosnik, a Stanford University professor, Ilana Seid, a GEM alumnus from Palau, and the Palau Community College.

It was created with the mission to cultivate and develop entrepreneurial talent in Palau and Micronesia in an effort to promote self-sustainability and decrease the islands’ dependence on foreign aid. GLEAN Palau launched its first Global Entrepreneurial Marketing Seminar in July 2008 in Palau with great success. Over 60 students and Palau community members and six GLEAN/ GEM/ Stanford-affiliated members participated in the seminar. Two new ventures created at the first seminar include a Giant Clam Farm and an Eco-Tourism Company.

This year the conference will be held from September 14th-16th. We hope to take this venture to greater heights and increase participation to include participants from other Micronesian island neighbors.

Mission: To be the annual flagship conference of Palau and Micronesia that brings leaders, entrepreneurs and altruists from diverse backgrounds and cultures together by harnessing strategic partnerships towards achieving economical, social and environmental self-sustainability in the pursuit of excellence.
