Do you want to be seen by thousands of change-makers with your
successful student-run project to fight climate change? Submit your
story and photos no later than 7th November!

The WSC-SD is currently actively collecting stories of successful
student-led initiatives that are successfully addressing or tackling
climate change. The best projects will be published in an e-book and
will be displayed during a COP15 side event in Copenhagen, December
2009.

The WSC-SD is publishing an e-book at the COP15 climate conference in
Copenhagen, in December this year, to showcase successful student
initiatives related to climate change around the world.

Goal of this e-book:

· To showcase successful student-led projects & innovations
(current, or as an idea in development) on a local, regional or global
level that have a meaningful positive impact on climate change and
reducing CO2 emissions, and thereby inspire potential supporters and
potentially active students.

· To gain support for these projects, from companies,
universities & NGOs for further development of the projects.

The projects and innovations should comply with the following criteria:

1. The project is student-led

2. The project has a meaningful positive impact on tackling
climate change and has tangible results (e.g. reducing CO2 emissions)

3. The project inspires other people in the direct community to
take action on climate change themselves, or to be involved in the
project.

Student theses or essays will not be eligible.

Who can participate?

The call is open to all students, from all countries of the world.

Format of the cases:

Each submission should be approx 500 words and should at least include
the following aspects:

1. Title of the project

2. Short summary of the project (50 words)

3. Main actors, organisations or persons involved

4. Explanation of the project (ca 500 words)

5. Preferably one quote, inspiring sentence or motto.

6. At least one photo (300 dpi, jpg or pdf format)

A panel of independent professional jury members will review the

COP15

The student e-book on climate change will serve as a source of
inspiration for young student leaders and wants to show the abundance
of successful existing initiatives run by students around the world.
We don’t want to sit still and see climate change happening before our
eyes - we want to inspire and call to action, by showcasing successful
initiatives.

The e-book will be in continuous development in the course of the year
2010. A first version will be showcased during the COP15 Climate
Conference in Copenhagen, during a side event, in December 2009.

Student Summit for Sustainability

The e-book will also serve as inspiration and input for the next
Student Summit on Sustainability 2010 in Cartagena, Colombia. This
conference will be organized by the WSC-SD and by the Colombian
Student Community Corporacion Grupo Tayrona. It will be a unique
event, bridging gaps in climate mitigation and adaptation between
developed and developing countries; the conference will be a truly
sustainable experience, bridging thinking and action, and having a
positive impact on the direct environment.

essay and properly cited. Any form of plagiarism will result in
