Sujet: Group Life Insurance Policy for Millennium Development Ambassadors & NGO Leaders
Envoyé: Aug 4th, 2008 - 12:56:46

Dear Distinguished Millennium Development Ambassadors and Other Colleagues,

As a follow up to the July 28, 2008 Assembly held at Modotel Hotels, Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria, I am pleased to inform you that approval has finally been granted for the commencement of the Group Life Insurance Policy for all Millennium Development Ambassadors, TWB Members and Associate/Affiliate s. The policy which is open to all Millennium Development Ambassadors in Nigeria is also extended to TWB members as well as associate/affiliate members (that is members of other NGOs who work as partners with TWB).

From 8.00 a.m. on August 8, 2008 (08:08:08:08) , the policy shall be made available for all qualified persons to endorse. The group life policy involves a sum assured of N2.5 million per person and the premium is payable on behalf of beneficiaries by Teachers Without Borders (Africa Regional Office). However, to qualify to benefit from the life insurance policy, the Millennium Development Ambassador must be regular member, committed to the promotion of the UN Millennium Development Goals in his/her local community of residence/place of work.
Also, beneficiaries are expected to nominate at least 3 VIPs to be commissioned and registered as Millennium Development Ambassadors from August 8, 2008. We shall require a one page report of the beneficiary' s activities as a Millennium Development Ambassador.

The Group Life Insurance Policy is bring promoted in response to the Federal government's call for adoption of life policies for all sectors of the society in Nigeria. This implies that in the event of carrying out activities as a Millennium Development Ambassador, whether at home, school, office, etc, and the person concern is dead, his/her next-of-kin shall be given the sum of N2.5 million.

The policy which commences on August 8, 2008 shall continue until August 8, 2015, and shall be subject to review, and is renewable on yearly basis. Based on request from other development workers and activists, the leadership of TWB has granted a special consideration to include interested development workers from other NGOs too. The conditions for such persons are obtained through written request to the undersigned.

It is our hope that both TWB Members and Millennium Development Ambassadors as well as other development workers and activists shall embrace this initiative and become part of this effort to ensure "life insurance for all".

For further information, please contact the undersigned.
