  Hi everyone!



This is a reminder about the upcoming HIV/AIDS Live Chat this coming
Thursday November 29th 2007 in advance of World AIDS Day on December 1st! It
will take place at 2pm Eastern Standard Time, here:

The theme of the Chat is: "Keeping the Promise to Youth: What promises have
been made to youth affected by HIV/AIDS? What promises have been kept? And
what else can be done?"



Our Speakers:



* Sydney Hushie
Project Officer, Ghana, GYCA
Sydney has been a youth advocate for HIV/AIDS in Ghana for nine years.
Sydney is currently the Project Officer for GYCA Southern Secretariat.
Sydney's first experience with youth advocacy was with a youth media
advocacy organisation in the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, (Children and
Youth In Broadcasting-Curious Minds) where he is a Radio/TV presenter and
holds radio/TV talk shows to increase national youth awareness on HIV/AIDS.
He is also a member of the editorial team of the youth magazine 'GHAYA',
published by UNFPA Ghana. He is a regular contributor to the magazine.


* Ricardo Baruch
AIDS Activist, Mexico
GYCA Regional Task Force
Ricardo is a Political Science student in the Autonomical University in
Puebla. He is participating in civil organizations working with sexual
diversity, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention: Alpha Youth and the
Mexican Foundation for the Planned Parenthood MEXFAM - Young People, also in
two national networks, the national DEMYSEX Network for NGO's working in
sexuality issues and the Task Force for HIV/AIDS prevention among gay men
and Men who have sex with Men (MSM's). He is also the Regional Focal Point
for Latin America of the Global Youth Coalition on AIDS (GYCA); Ricardo is
also the coordinator for the youth program of the International AIDS
Conference that will be held in Mexico City next year.



* Helenka Jedrzejowski
HIV/AIDS Prevention & Awareness Educator, AIDS Vancouver
Helenka Jedrzejowski has a Masters in Health Science from the University of
Toronto with a specialization in Community Health & Health Promotion. She
has worked for the Canadian HIV Trials Network, Positive Women's Network and
has interned with the Canadian International Development Agency in South
Africa working in a grassroots community-based setting. Currently, Helenka
is an HIV/AIDS Prevention & Awareness Educator at AIDS Vancouver engaging
with the public on issues related to HIV/AIDS on a daily basis. Helenka
believes with all her heart that long walks are good for the soul and she
makes a mean Polish potato soup.

* Caitlin Chandler
Project Officer, GYCA

She is currently a Project Officer at GYCA, where she trains young AIDS
activists from around the world in Project Management, Political Advocacy,
and Grantwriting/Fundraising. She also specializes in media work, and
manages special projects for GYCA.
