	Hello everybody, Welcome to the list. My name is Alexandra and I will be one of the moderators for the WSIS E- Consultation-Canada WSIS Youth - World that will elicit the experiences of young Canadians building information societies around the world. First let me introduce myself briefly, I study political science and have been working recently with youth and social movements in Argentina. I am particularly interested in alternative media and the Internet's utilisations by and for social groups. I'm quite thrilled to be involved in this Consultation that promises to be both constructive and rewarding. We have quite a lot of subjects to cover knowing that WSIS aims to create a declaration and an action plan addressing the following question: What values and actions do we embrace to ensure that the Information Society becomes a vehicle for democracy, justice, equality, and respect for personal and social development? In that perspective, this week will be a time to get to know each other, who's subscribing to the e-consultation, what groups you belong to and what your expectations are for these 6 next weeks. Next week we will be starting the consultation off and covering the relationship between the information society and: * Education, Livelihoods, and Community Development I am very curious to learn more about who is online and what your thoughts are on youth and the Internet.
