  Hello AYAN!

I hope you are great and ready to make this group work together again!

As you know we faced some barriers to implement the e-course as we had
planned. Also the participation in the group was not so active as we
imagined before.

But it's time to overcome difficulties and turn it into action!

We have a propposal for us to develop together this month. Let me explain it
to you.

Next December we are going to have the second seminar of the project, with
participant organizations from other 7 African countries. The seminar will
be held in Senegal in partnership with the organizations Les Pioners and
Action Enfance.
During this seminar we want a representative of AYAN to present the main
issues discussed by the group in terms of Youth and HIV/Aids. We have a
summary of the discussions we had at the seminar in Joburg, but we want AYAN
to go further and present a document on what you think are the priorities of
action on Youth and HIV/Aids in Africa.
The document will be the base for the second seminar and it will be a good
opportunity to build partnership with the other African organizations as
well as the International Falcon Movement - Socialist Education
International (IFM-SEI), in order to have an joint agenda on Youth and
HIV/Aids to advocate worldwide.

We are sending attached three factsheets: Young People and HIV; Young Women
and HIV; and Meaningful Youth Participation. Feel free to send to the list
other sources you would like to use, specially from an African perspective.

We will have this first week (5 - 10) to brainstmorm. Share your comment on
the documents, bring us new information and data, raise questions...
On the following week (11 - 17) you will define the priorities and start to
write a draft document. Then (18 - 24) we will finish the document and
decide who will be the AYAN representative at the seminar in Joburg. We are
sorry we can afford only one person to be there.

Please let us know your thoughts on the propposal and feel free to start
sharing your thoughts on the documents!

Best wishes from Brazil,

manuella
