Hello Friends!
If you are already attending the Mexico International AIDS Conference,
please join us for a GYCA members' meeting on Sunday, July 3rd, from
12:30pm-4:30pm, Contempo Cinema, Zona Rosa. (
http://www.contempocinema.com/conocenos.html
Young people who are not yet members, but are interested in joining the
network may also attend. The venue is a short bus ride away from the venue
for the Conference Opening Ceremony, where delegates need to arrive by 6pm
due to limited seating.
We will provide lunch during a short screening of the Toronto YouthForce
film (35 min). You will have an opportunity to meet GYCA's new, incoming
Program Director, Rachel Jacobson, and to meet many other GYCA members who
will be present!
Afterward we will briefly present the results of the GYCA Membership
Evaluation Survey, tell you a bit about what we've been working on this
year, and have an informal dialogue to gain members' input into our workplan
and priorities. All GYCA staff will be present from both our Accra, Ghana
and New York offices.
Please RSVP to: rsvp (at) youthaidscoalition.org so that we know how much lunch
to get. You do not need to cc: me!
We have no funding left for scholarships, so this event is only for young
people who have already confirmed their attendance at the conference. Based
on the number of RSVPs we may a cap on how many people can come.
This meeting will be in English and Spanish. Unfortunately the film is in
English only. Our introductory remarks will be in both languages, and we
will have one group discussion in Spanish, and one in English. We will have
a translator available to provide a summary of each group's discussions at
the end of the meeting.
Thanks & Best Wishes,
