This group is dedicated to informing Aboriginal and non- Aboriginal Youth about important Aboriginal issues and activities across Canada.
My name is Eriel Deranger and I am the moderator of this group as well as the National Aboriginal Youth Engagement Coordinator for the Creating Local Connections Project. I will, and have been, travelling across Canada networking with youth, youth organizations, attending conferences, conducting workshops and getitng the word out there. I invited you to learn more about what is happening in the Aboriginal Youth community of Canada.
Canadian Aboriginal Connections is a part of Creating Local Connections - Canada (http://projects.takingitglobal.org/clccanada). CLC Canada is an intergrated three-year program (2006-2009) of TakingItGlobal. CLC Canada is aimed at promoting and supporting youth participation in Canada. The goals of the CLC Canada and the Aboriginal Connections group are:
*To raise awareness and provide access to youth opportunities and resources
* To connect and encourage collaboration between youth/youth initiatives
*To strengthen the capacity of youth/youth initiatives in Canada.
