	Dear Colleagues, As you all may be well informed the Stand Up and Take Action 2008 event starts from this Friday 17th October to Sunday 19th October. Join the global movement of people who refuse to stay seated or silent in the face of poverty and broken promises to end it! STAND UP and TAKE ACTION against Poverty and for the Millennium Development Goals. Stand Up is a global mobilisation to end poverty and inequality and for the MDGs. This year people are to Stand Up and Take Action, to ensure that governments worldwide hear our demands to end poverty and inequality.We can Take Action by sending letters to government or local government, distribute books or other educational materials, donate blood, plant trees or any other ways to contribute towards ending poverty and inequality. I hereby attach: 1. The Stand Up Pledge 2. The Youth Brochure 3. The Stand Up Flier 4. Sign up forms for organisations. 5. How to stand up guide. 6. A concept note on the Stand Up and Take Action 2008. The Stand Up Pledge should be recited by all those who Stand Up on the three days and the Sign Up Forms for Organisations are to be filled by organisations who stand up and sent back to the MDG/GCAP National Secretariat. The Sign Up Forms for Organisations should be sent to the Secretariat by 5pm on Sunday 19th October,2008.
