  My greetings to everybody !

First of all, Let me present myself :
My name is Osée RESIDOR. I was born in Haiti (in the Caribbean) 24 years ago. I am living in Haiti. I am a young student who is involved in many activities and organisations that focus the sustainable development issues.
It is with a lot of enjoyment that I seize this opportunity to participate in this e-consultation on the migration.

Here is my response to the questions of this week (2) :

About migration policy, I would say that the national governments are best placed to take the initiative on migration policy for their own territories, because they are directly affected. However, the United Nations, taking into account of her importance, can adapt them while taking into account the interests of the countries as well as the migrants.

I think that the following policies should be develop in order to enhance the economic and social benefits of migration for national governments :

- Give to the migrants the possibility to invest in thier country of origin, the money earned abroad.
- Exemption from customs duties to those who want to invest
- The creation of a ministry andor secretary with the mission to establish and to strengthen the contact with the diapora.
- To discuss special rates with the transfert companies.
- To encourage them by offering them the possibility to integrate national institutions such as : (parliament, government, civil society) when they will decide to.
- The right to vote. etc.

For the socio-economic safety nets :
Their governments must negotiate with the host country that their rights are respected, that they are treated without discrimination, that they benefit the same rights as everybody.

Finally, in my country, young people don't have opportunities to participate in the debates surrounding migration. For their involvement at both the local and the
national level, I suggest that those initiative to be taken:
- Involve young people in the decision making processes.
- Organize training, capacity building sessions about migration
- Taking into account ideas and thoughts provide by the young people
- support youth activities and project on migration

Looking foreward to reading from every body,
