  Hey everyone,

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves and had a safe trip back home. I am very
curious to know what ideas from the WUF or WUFY you want to bring into
action?

I was very inspired by the Indigenous presence in Vancouver and will be
doing outreach with Gabi to connect with Native youth groups in Toronto. Our
discussions on youth involvement in decision-making gave me greater
resolution and ammunition to put pressure on our Youth Advocate (a voting
member of the city council). I hope to gain her support for some concrete
ways that we can move beyond lobbying behind the scenes and enter the debate
on council floor.

As a part of the bigger picture, I was also very impressed by Porto
Allegre's participatory budgeting process and hope to have the process put
in action on a city-wide scale (the public housing body actually used a
similar process this year for residents to decide on spending for building
maintenance and upgrades).
