Sujet: Inspire the world with your stories of inspiration
Envoyé: Sep 8th, 2007 - 21:44:17

  Dear otherWISE team,
I wish to share an awesome opportunity to share inspiring Australian
stories with the world. A new international version of Junk to Funk
is now being created and anyone who is striving to make a positive
difference in the world is invited to contribute. Below is an extract
of an email that I have recently sent through the Cycle for
Sustainability networks. I'm sure you may know of others who would
have inspiring stories to share so please pass this message on.
Cool regards
for the Earth,
Nick T

'You have the opportunity to contribute to the creation of an
international version of 'Junk to Funk'. The Otesha Project has now
branched out to form Otesha UK, who have taken on the huge task of
collating and editing submissions for this international book.
So, we would love to contribute some Australian stories, your stories
of inspiration and change. Here are the details from Otesha UK on how
you can contribute.
--How you can contribute--
Firstly if you haven't seen a copy of the original Junk to Funk you
can download an electronic version here:
http://otesha.ca/otesha+book/index.en.html
We are after:
Narrative stories = removing the blinders section (we refer to this
as busting the myths, the experiences that make you question what
you're being told)
Mirror stories (an experience in your life that really made you stop
and take another look at an issue and has changed the way you now
think about it)
Empowered stories (real stories of real people making a difference -
we know many of you have these stories to tell)
There are several sections where we (Otesha UK) need more contributions:
Coffee / Fairtrade
Food
Media
Lifestyle
Health and wellbeing
However, people can have a go at writing for a section they feel closest to.
The more submissions we have the closer to funk we get! If you could
let us know what sections you decided to bite into that would be
brilliant.
We have set a preliminary deadline of mid July, although you don't
have to submit highly polished contributions, that's the editors job.
---------------
As we Cycled for Sustainability we discovered so many of you have
amazing stories to share. In addition to the opportunity for fame and
to inspire others we would also like to offer the first five
contributors an original hard copy of 'Junk to Funk' (actual cost $25
but worth so much more).
If you are inspired to contribute to one of the theme areas mentioned
above, please contact the UK project manager, Barbora (details
below), and cc your email to us so we can keep track of our Aussie
contributors.
Join the global movement which is transforming Junk to Funk.
