The Youth Policy Action Center is a Web-based resource that connects "grassroots" youth and adults who care about youth, "grasstops" local service and advocacy organizations, "inside the beltway" national organizations, and local, state and federal officials. The Youth Policy Action Center puts policy making power in the hands of ordinary citizens, giving visitors a direct channel to communicate with their elected officials, access the same tools used by professional lobbyists, and connections to organizations that can help them change youth policies. The Youth Policy Action Center strives to level the political playing field, bringing technological savvy and mass outreach efforts to scale for those who believe young people are this Nation's most precious resource, giving young people a platform on which to stand and be counted in national and local debate and dialogue, and providing national and local advocacy organizations a way to come together and act as one. The Youth Policy Action Center gives ordinary citizens – from young people to concerned parents to proud grandparents to dedicated teachers – access to political power which used to be the exclusive providence of entrenched special interest lobbyists.
