HIV +ve Doc's PCR Extended

An in-charge Judicial Magistrate's court here, on Sunday, extended police custody remand (PCR) of an HIV positive dental surgeon hailing from Lucknow arrested for harassing and keeping his wife in the dark about his ailment till April 23. The dental surgeon's mother arrested in the same case by Dhantoli Police has been released on bail.
The dental surgeon had married the woman for Nagpur on November 8, 2000. Daughter of a prominent city lawyer, she came to know after four years of marriage that her husband had already tested HIV positive.
She too is now said to be HIV positive having got the infection most likely through her husband.
After arresting the accused , mother son duo, a team of Dhantoli police had also visited Lucknow to probe the matter as the dental surgeons father and sister have been also booked in the case.
The accused dental surgeon's wife had come to her parents and was undergoing treatment in city. She told her parents that her husband and in-laws were demanding 15 lakh for opening a dental clinic in Lucknow.
The complaint lodged by the victim's parents states that the dental surgeon and his family were aware of his infection before marraige. That the fact was hidden by the bridegroom's side makes the doctor responsible for infecting his wife.
When the doctor and his mother went to meet his wife, somebody from the complainant's side alerted the cops. Subsequently Dhantoli police had arrested the duo.
