Name: YES BURUNDI
Description:
The YES Burundi is a national coalition of different stakeholders, namely Youth Associations, local and foreign NGOs, UN agencies, Government, Parliament, Religious confessions, Universities, Vocational Training Centers and any individual/groups committed to work for promoting the Youth Employment in Burundi and worldwide so youth can be empowered to create and/or improve their livelihoods.
The First National Consultation Meeting of YES BURNDI Network was initiated and hosted by « Youth Action for Development », chaired by Mr. Macumu Pierre under the patronage of Ministry of Labour.
The consultation meeting gathered at least seventy participants from diverse stakeholders: Ministry of Labour(5), Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture (3), Foreign NGOs (3), Media (3), Private Sector (6), Youth Associations (30), Parliament (1) to map out the National Action Plan within which to promote youth employment. The organizing committee was made up of two groups: a) organizing leaders (5), and b) organizing committee members (15).
Every one agreed that this was the best event we have never organized in Burundi, especially in Bujumbura city.
