Dear The National Youth Convention (NYC) in Kenya was envisioned to raise
the visibility of young people and to create an independent and
authoritative platform for articulation of their objectives, interests and
visions for the nation. The past three conventions have seen remarkable
results between 1998 and 2007 in Kenya.
The Youth Agenda in association with her partners will host the Fourth
National Youth Convention on the 18th 20th September 2008, at the Bomas of
Kenya, Nairobi. NYC [4] shall gather one thousand Young Kenyan leaders, from
different backgrounds and from all of Kenya's 210 constituencies to build
consensus on the theme *"Vijanaa Tujipange *based* *on Young people
Rebuilding Our Nation and Reconciling Our Communities: The Challenges and
Prospects for Young Kenyans".
The following will form thematic areas for discussion and eventual
resolutions for actions in the post convention [NYC 4] process; *Ethnicity
and the Challenges of Nationhood, Historical Injustices in Kenya, Setting
Priorities and a rational framework for reconstruction of Post-conflict
Kenya, Completing the Constitutional Review Process, Evaluating the National
Accord, its Implementation and the role of young people in the process,
Concretizing the Role of Young people in the National Agenda.*
