Vancouver Food Policy Council's Community Forum

Forum takes place November 30th and includes a facilitated process for
community input on the Vancouver Food Charter. Please RSVP ASAP: Limited

Habitat Jam

Imagine tens of thousands of people around the world just like you
connecting in real time over the internet to discuss and debate some of the
most urgent and controversial issues that face a rapidly urbanizing planet.
From December 1-3, 2005, “the Habitat JAM” will gather the input of citizens
from around the world to create actionable ideas for the United Nations
World Urban Forum agenda and influence the Forum's content.

FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Brand Spanking New CB Youth Grants Program Looking For Projects To
Fund! Columbia Basin Youth Grants is a new funding program for youth
projects. There is a small grants stream (for projects up to $2500) and a
large grants stream (for projects over $2500) and there’s no deadline to
apply! Check it out at http://www.scratchonline.ca/programs.php

Volunteer Scholarships: The Toyota Earthday Scholarship program rewards
graduating high school students and Québec junior college students who have
achieved academic excellence and have distinguished themselves in
environmental community service. Fifteen scholarships of $5000 each will be
awarded across Canada this year. Applications due: 31 January 2006. For more

5 Positions Available: Urban mobility Educator, Urban Agriculture Specialist,
Landscape Architect, Green Business Outreach and Workplace Assessor and
Biodiesel Feasibility Coordinator

If you are on EI, or have been in the past 3 years, you may qualify for this
program. Here are the formal requirements:
Any unemployed individual eligible to work in Canada who:
o has a current EI claim or
o has had an established EI claim within the past 36 months
o has been paid special EI benefits (ie: maternity/parental) in the past 60
months

These positions are funded by Service Canada (formerly HRSDC)

**TO APPLY, YOU MUST BE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18 - 30.**
