  MEANING

THERE IS MEANING IN EVRYTHING

God turns everything to good for those who trust God and believes he
has called them for glory. See Romans 8:28.

A person with an attitude of seeing the good purpose of life is able
to make it through life more fulfilled than the one who only sees
evil in the events of life. There is meaning in your yesterday and
there is meaning in your today. There will be meaning in your
tomorrow. This is why you must dream of a brighter tomorrow.

In the bible book of Luke 24 we are provided with a story of two
disciples on the road to Emmaus. The events of how Jesus was killed
had just happened and it was already about three days. Many disciples
of Jesus could not imagine that there could be meaning and
significance in the death of Jesus. Many of them had built their
hopes and aspirations on Jesus. Their world was built around Jesus.
They dreamt of sitting and dinning in his kingdom. They dreamt of
ruling with Jesus in the new world. They dreamt of liberation and
freedom from their enemies, the Romans.

They were people of hope and a messianic people. They saw in Jesus
the messiah that Israel expected. They followed him daily and labored
with him. They shared in his daily sufferings and travails. Many of
them had been faithful despite of their weaknesses. They were loyal
friends.

Jesus believed in them. Jesus was a friend to them. Jesus was a
leader to them. Jesus was close to them. Jesus had impacted their
lives in one way or the other. Jesus was a good friend to have. Jesus
was a leader to be followed. The presence of Jesus brought joy and
healing. It was difficult to hear Jesus speak and not be touched.

We can easily fall to a game of blaming the disciples. In their lives
we could see our own lives. In their dreams and aspirations we could
see our own dreams. What would have been your own reaction after
being very close with somebody for almost three years and then the
person is suddenly snatched from you? The games you shared together
will be no more. The laughter together will be no more. The tears
will be no more. The sharing of ideas and dreams will be no more. The
comfort and friendship will be no more.

Separation and departure is hard. It is discomforting. It could be
hazardous. It could be painful. It could be tragic. It could be
stressful. Yet we know that various kinds of separations and
departure do occur in life. It is good to prepare for such times. We
only meet to gracefully separate at appropriate moments in life.
Departure is a hallmark of life.
We experience little departures and separations in daily life. There
is meaning in all of them. Many works we do daily will not be
possible if there are no little departures from family members to go
to work. Many travels abroad if not be possible if there are no
little separations. Look not to what is happening now but look to
tomorrow.

When Jesus was killed, it was not the end. Many of his disciples
thought it was the end. But Jesus did rise again. And you too have
risen.

There is meaning even in the tragedies we do not understand.
