UN-HABITAT will provide US$20,000 to the Kenya Red Cross to mobilize and facilitate youth representatives to promote peace and reconciliation efforts in slum areas in Nairobi. This would entail the deliver emergency relief, while mobilizing our existing youth members as outreach workers to identify needy families and geographic areas that may be not is adequately served by current relief efforts. The youth would also be integral to mapping post-conflict shelter reconstruction needs within their communities, producing youth peace building media, help with post conflict shelter construction, and finally identify those who can receive job training and start micro-businesses.
