Dear All,
In response to the introduction kindly do replies on your expectations in this discussion forum.

Philip Bundi 27, from Kenya is hopes that at the end of this forum he want’s to see a people-centred development approach. That will be promoted through educating, mobilising and involving local community in the planning, implementation and operation of projects/programme aimed at urban harmonisation thus ensuring an environmentally sustainable future. Phil believes the youth will share their experience fully for the better.
Zehlezinhle Ndlela, 30 from South Africa expects that the forum will be a space and a platform for young people to share their experiences, ideas and views on the issues pertaining to urbanisation. She is extremely excited to join this group and am particularly looking forward to vibrant discussions and sharing of ideas with other passionate young people. Hopefully this will serve as a catalyst for collaborative works beyond the e-consultations and the World Urban Forum.
Michael Boampong, from Ghana expressed his thoughts that he think’s there is some wrong with regards to the questions that are being sent out. He understands social *inequity* to be in the context of under-serviced communities or individuals, since in the questions sent out UN-HABITAT seem to have made reference to social *equity* as of under-serviced…. Any way (says Michael) he stand to be corrected if he is misunderstanding you but if he is right try to correct this otherwise you will get responses that are not relevant to what UN-HABITAT really want.
Sarah Kanyau, from Kenya objective of this is discussion is to explore the relationship of the physical and spatial form of urban centre’s and their hinterlands as well as the relationship of the physical or tangible form of cities to social, cultural, economic, environmental and political harmony or discord. Specifically, this theme explores how the development of the physical form and spatial growth of the city can enhance or impede equity and equality for its diverse residents and economies.

Regards,
Christabell.
