World Urban Youth Forum 4 E-Consultations
From June 10 – July 11, 2008 the Partners and Youth section of the UN-HABITAT will undertake an e-consultation on the theme of the Fourth World Urban Forum (WUF) which will take place in Nanging, China from 3rd - 7th November 2008. The World Urban Youth Forum (WUYF) will take place, before the WUF, from the 1st to the 2nd of November 2008.
The aim of the e-consultation is to gather information for the Development of a Background Paper for the WUYF.. Participants to the consultations are requested to consult with their peers who do not have access to internet so that their opinions can be included in the paper as well.
The theme of both Forums is Harmonious Urbanization: The Challenge of Balanced Territorial Development. UN-HABITAT would like to solicit thoughts experiences and suggestions from you, the youth, on this theme through this e-consultation. This process will present an opportunity for you to articulate and give meaning to what you consider harmonious or inharmonious in your lives, towns and cities. It is also an opportunity for you to suggest ways to increase harmony in your neighbourhoods.
We apologize that the questionnaire is only in English. In lieu of this, we hope that you can have a discussion with other young women and men or youth groups in your town or city who may not be English speakers and document their answers and send them to us in English
The E-consultation will take place over 4 weeks from June 15 - July to 11 2008.
Instructions:
A facilitator will post the questions for the week on Sundays so that you can respond to them any time between Monday and Friday. Facilitators will then write a brief summary of your responses over the weekend, and post the summary on Sunday, along with the question for you to respond to during that week.
A final report with all the summaries and overall results will be posted and distributed widely on 11 July 2008.
