	Democracy Video Challenge: The Challenge asked people from around the world to create short videos that complete the phrase, "Democracy is...." Over 900 people from 95 countries answered the call. Challenge partners are from democracy and youth organizations, academia, the film/entertainment industry and the US State Department. YouTube is providing the video platform. The Challenge's independent jury, co-chaired by Hernando de Soto (President of the Institute for Liberty and Democracy) and Michael Apted (President of the Directors Guild of America), selected the 18 finalists (3 from each geographic region), but the online voting public will select the actual winners from May 15 - June 15. The winners will be announced on June 16th. Six video producers - one from each region of the world - will win an all-expense-paid trip to New York, Washington and Hollywood. Go to the Democracy Video Challenge YouTube site at www.youtube.com/democracychallenge, click the voting tab and view the finalists.
