Youth Pre-Conference(National AIDS Conference)
========================================

Nigerian Youths Presented Awards to Distinguished Stakeholders/NGOs/Agencies on HIV&AIDS –Youth Focused. (1st May,2010; ICC, Central Area, Abuja).

The evening of 1st May,2010;at International Conference Centre, Central Area, Abuja; would remain symbolical and reference point for many Nigerian Youths that witnessed the presentations of different categories of Awards to worthy stakeholders, NGOs and Agencies.

Few among the award recipients were NACA,UNFA, EVA,WINROCK,.. It was a great evening; which served as platform of encouragement for all youths present, to remain focused in their area of contribution to the National Response.

Meanwhile ,morning and afternoon sessions had earlier been held successfully ; on different cognate youth-focused matters. The entire participants thoroughly benefitted from the sessions .

Opening Ceremony

(2nd May,2010; ICC, Central Area, Abuja).

The day started with break-out Session and also witnessed many Stakeholders in the HIV/AIDS Circle. The day came alive with the official opening of the Conference by the Director General of National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).

A member of GYCA presented a documentary Title- Jonah’s Quest which looks at how the South Africa Government has position it HIV/AIDS programme to provide young people with access to free comprehensive treatment of sexual transmitted infection and other related illnesses.

It also highlight how roles that are traditional handle by doctor’s with regards to ARV case management is being shared with nurses to allow for great reach of ARV to communities that needs them.

The were key delivery notes by Organizations concerned on the issues of National Response and the degree of Budget Allocation, tracking and Implementation Value by the Government Institutions involved. We look forward to a successful outing.

Member of the GYCA Nigeria Shadow Report Team are also using this opportunity to tidy the National Youth Report for 2010.
