	Jambo/Hello/Salut a tous: It is great to hear this news but I must admit that I cannot get too excited. I was in Nairobi in 2002 + 2003 and had a hand in getting the UN Habitat youth strategy (which called for an advisory council) adopted by member governments. There was lots of talk at this moment in time about creating a youth advisory council and yet, here we are approaching 2008. Having worked in the UN I understand that these processes take time and often, decisions on programs are not indicative of staff efforts but rather the agonizingly slow decision-making process of the Governing Council. Nevertheless I believe that a youth advisory council remains important. I remain optimistic but grounded by the reality of my past experiences.
