hi marouen,
if the group has decided after the last meeting to
hold our gysd event on the dates of 23th/24th (april)
it's for a specific reason. we are all aware of the
dates mentioned on the GYSD web page and we would for
sure have been pleased to respect them at least as a
symbol but we believe that we are organising that
event not only to orgnise it but basically to empower
and facilitate youth participation in the civil
society, which the group believes will be achieved
wether the event is hold on the 17th or the 23rd of
april. AS a matter of fact, the 17th of april is the
international day of politicial prisoners (if my
memory is good, or is it palestinian prisoners) and
that event will be celebrated at eltaller as well as
another international day on the 19th which made it
impossible to hold the event during those days.
i do believe TIG has made those open forums available
for members to be used:)
the idea of holding open forums at eltaller was there
before the "launch" of the wsis youth natioanl
campaign and i have to precise maybe that what was
discussed in the meeting was not only the campaign but
all the youth activities hold in eltaller. open forums
are more part of the waha project than of the campaign
itself.
besides the fact that "technology" is not the unique
issue of the summit but all of those issues that could
possibily exist that could use ICT to be resolved, to
create connectivity between partners....so
volunteerism, migration, hungar, poverty, gender,...
are issues we can discuss among the wsis campaign (i
personally think!). the group also keeps in mind that
the summit is only a phase in our activities and
empowering youth (among other ideas through
volunteerism) is defintly fitting with the group's
vision and objectives.... as for organising the event
at eltaller, we had for sure thought about it:), but
the fact is that the croissant rouge, wants to touch
as many people as possible and to bring students from
other universities to insat (to hold a big event),
also if the scouts will be there, they will probably
bring a lot of people with them, people that can not
fit at eltaller, so the group thought we would for
instance adpot the possibility of holding the event at
insat.
the milset "issue", as far as i remember, i think it's
you who said it's an issue:)) anyway, be sure we are
all aware we have to cooperate somehow with them.
merci marouen et bon travail à toi, ne t'inquiète de
rien la campagne est en de bonnes mains.
