Hi TIG Ghana Members,
I am pleased to invite you to a Technology Transformation Seminar on the theme “Ghana's Emerging Oil Industry: The Challenges of ICT Accessibility For All”. The Seminar will be held on Thursday 27th August, 2009 from 3.30pm to 5.00pm. at the Conference Room of the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE), Ridge, Accra.
The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation's strong position in the oil, gas and petrochemicals industry is founded on a heritage of excellence in industrial design, engineering and refinery. In order to fulfill this role GNPC engaged in the exploration and production of oil and gas fields, the promotion of the resources to interested parties, data management of geological and geophysical information and data storage facilities, influenced by ICT applications and systems. The resultant combination of these technology developments is the recent oil find in commercial quantities for the country's development.
Issues to be discussed include digital inclusion through implementation of cutting edge ICT programme, ICT developments in capacity building and policy formulation to enhance local private public partnerships in software developments to service the emerging oil industry in Ghana.
In addition to the general public, special invitations have been extended to the National Energy Commission, Ministry of Energy, National Planning Commission, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Office of the President, Bank of Ghana, the Universities, Tullow Ghana Ltd, Kosomos Energy Ghana. The media will also be in attendance.
We are located near Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), opposite the Council of State Building on 2nd Avenue, Ridge.
