Secondly, the Friends of Palestine have asked me to pass on some

THE WORLD CANT WAIT
Two years ago, world leaders were given a huge global mandate to make
poverty history. Unprecedented public pressure led them to make some big
promises to increase aid, and cancel many poor countries debts. But
they havent shown enough urgency in taking the action necessary to
eradicate poverty.
Two years on, 5,000 children die every day from drinking dirty water. More
than five million people living with HIV/AIDS still do not have access to
medicines. As the clock ticks, peoples lives are lost.
So in 2007, we are telling the rich countries that the World Cant Wait.
They must deliver on their promises and take decisive action against
poverty and climate catastrophe.
In June, Prime Minister Tony Blair will be heading to Germany to meet the
heads of European Governments and other nations that make up the G8, a
group of eight of the richest countries in the world.
Join the London gathering on June 2
Gather on the banks of the River Thames in London on Saturday 2 June and
send Tony Blair off to Germany with a clear message that the world cant
wait ringing in his ears. Wear white, bring your alarm clock or mobile
phone alarm.
FROM THE FRIENDS OF PALESTINE SOCIETY
there is a national demo through london on Saturday 9th June organised by
Enough! ( a coalition of Trade Unions, charities, faith and other campaign
groups)http://www.enoughoccupation.org/National+Rally+13808.twl
The Occupation has created serious poverty for the Palestinians, as well
as SEVERE human rights violations. But Palestinian suffering dates back
further to 1948, when the state of Israel was created and 750,000
Palestinians were driven or fled from their homes. The United Nations
asserted the refugees' right to return home in 1948, but Israel has
refused to allow this. Meanwhile the refugee population has grown to over
four million, one of the largest in the world, many of whom live in camps
waiting for international law to be upheld.
The British government must stand up for international law and human rights!
Friend's of Palestine would like to ask you for help in promoting the
demo. And a list of your members who will be joining us in the march
through london. In order for Warwick's voice to be effective it needs to
be united.
following is a list of people who officially signed up for the demo:
Friends of the Earth, Green Party, Jewish Socialists' Group, Jews for
Justice, Muslim Association of Britain, Friends of Al-Aqsa, Liberal
Democrat Friends of Palestine, Pax Christi, Quaker Peace and Social
Witness. Scottish Episcopal Church's Justice Peace and Creation Network,
STWC, Trade Union Friends of Palestine, UNISON, War on Want, Welfare
Association, Women's International League for Peace and Freedom
