In a bid to make Africa one of the most sought after place on earth come
2025 by harnessing the potentials of Technology, WIRE AFRICA (an
organization committed to break Africa's millennia long curse of poverty by
providing solutions, technological, Financial and Technical} to foster
economic development) , is putting together what is expected to be Africa's
biggest Technology Summit, Exhibition and Award ceremony tagged
" Technology as a Catalyst for economic development in Africa"

The African Technology Summit 2006 will bring together in one platform
governments, multi-nationals, technology experts, civil society
organizations, business managers & community groups to explore far-reaching
insights and cutting-edge technological solutions for African recovery.

The Impact and role of Technology within an organization, a community & a
nation as a whole has developed over the years towards a major strategic
issue.

Technology enables a community not only to do things more efficiently, but
also to do things in a completely different way.

Why the Summit?

At the Summit we will collaboratively be providing some answers to the very
big questions in an effort to proffer solutions to the poverty syndrome in
Africa.

The following questions will be diagnosed, operated upon and dealt with
during the summit

How can Technology benefit a community or a group of people that are
referred to as impoverished or under-privileged?

How can Technology (Information and communications Technology [ICT]) reduce
the effect of poverty in our society?

What are the practical steps to take, using ICT as the bedrock for
Africandevelopment?

Is Africa ready for Technology? How ready is she?

What is the governments' role in Technology for national development?

Where are we now? The state of Africa- Understanding the present situation.

Where are we going? Planning for future situation.

At the end of the Summit the following would have been achieved.

v Apply the presented frameworks & management tools to a practical situation

v Understand the most important technological developments & how these
technologies may affect an organization, a community or a nation positively.

v Understand the specific role & goals of an Information architecture

v Develop a plan of action using Innovation, globalization and technology as
combined forces to drive economic development.

Exhibition: There are two exhibition packages. There is space for 300-500
organizations to exhibit their products and services during the Summit.

Silver Package: $ 450 US dollars

Gold Package: $ 800 US dollars

Conference & Training: $ 80 US dollars

Exhibition Pass: $ 10 US dollars

Award night & Dinner Ticket: $ 25 US dollars

ATS 2006 Adult forum: $ 50

All summit registration: $ 180 US dollars N 20, 000 Naira, 60, 000 CFA

There is a 50% discount for members of MMPNIGERIA or WIRE AFRICA. 75%
discount for students and youth activists. Registration after the 30th of
October 2006 attracts a 25% increase on all prices. All registration must be
complete by November 20, 2006.

Transportation:

WIRE AFRICA is pleased to announce that we will be flying participants from
Nigeria and Ghana on 2 chartered planes provided by InterAir, South Africa.

Participants pay $ 150 only or N 19, 000 for the two-way trip.

For participants boarding the plane, the summit begins right on the plane
with a networking session and welcome charge by WIRE AFRICA executives.

African Technology Summit 2006 Program of events

All Nigerian Participants meet at International training and conference
centre, elephant house, broad street, Lagos on the 13th of December 2006 for
a pre-summit address tagged " African recovery- Our collaborative effort".
It will also feature comedy and saxophonist performances. Dance from
Earthquake a dance group based in Benin republic.

All Ghanaian participants meet at Palm royal beach resort, Accra, Ghana on
the 12th of December 2006 for the same purpose.

All participants fly on our chartered planes by the 13th of December 2006 at
3.00 pm from Nigeria and Ghana and arrive at Cotonou International Airport
at 3: 45 pm.

Welcome Party at the Benin Vickinfel Hotel by 7pm on the 13th of December
2006.

Award night and Dinner intended to award real people with real insights and
the resources to deliver them, problem solvers, people who can help you

barriers.
