	Hi everybody, Now that we have gotten some background information as regards delivering the seminar at the Pre-conference. Thanks to Sanushka for providing this vital information. Let the brainstorming on the subtopics and presentations start immediately. As we are all well aware. We have just 90minutes to deliver the seminar. I am suggesting the following subtopics/sub-sessions; 1. Sub-session one; lasting 25 minutes. A brief overview/introduction of the major players in the international Trade arena. a. The WTO b. The World Bank and the IMF c. UNCTAD d. WIPO e. The QUAD f. G8 , G33 2. sub-session two; lasting 35 minutes, Linking International Trade rules and Access to Medicines- The WTO Agreement on TRIPS. a. Introduction to TRIPS and TRIPS plus b. TRIPS safeguards- Compulsory licencing and Parallel imports c. the August 2003 Decision d. the implications of TRIPS for people(especially PLWHAs) in poor countries. 3. Sub-session three; lasting 30 minutes, Advocacy and Action for Access to Affordable Medicines(esp ARVS) as a new Frontier in AIDS Activism. a. Why the present International trade rules must be changed- the magnitude and nature of the problem. b. The Human Rights dimension c. Entry points for Young AIDS activists- Trade Justice Advocacy and Action. . Let other people make some more suggestions so that we can make the selection and reach a final decision by mid next week.
