The NYLS is an annual capacity building meeting and intergenerational dialogue to which brings together young leaders from across Nigeria, the international community and the Diaspora to discuss key national development issues, in order to evolve solutions and make commitments for affirmative community action. The theme of this year's summit is: Youth Leadership in HIV/AIDS Research for Development.

Key features of the 2007 Summit:

Regional Institutional Research and Development Seminars:

These will be a series of mobilization seminars to underscore the need for young leaders and students to be involved in HIV/AIDS research and to build a network of students working on HIV/AIDS research in their respective institutions. To host an institutional seminar at your institution, please email Adebayo Samuel adebayo (at) developmentpartnership.org.

Community sharing space:

is an initiative to provide space for young researchers in ASRH/HIV/AIDS issues and youth organizations to showcase their work and best practices. All registered delegates will have an opportunity to exhibit their work at the community sharing space, which will attract a wide variety audience from civil society, government and the donor community.

Special intergenerational dialogue on the national response to date:

this session will provide an opportunity for young people to interact with leaders in the field on HIV/AIDS particularly policy makers to share knowledge, experience and lessons learned in the national response till date.

Knowledge sharing symposium:

the first ever knowledge sharing symposium was held at the Enugu summit in 2006. The 2007 summit promises to be most exciting, as leaders from major stakeholder sectors will be able to share experiences, breakthroughs, research findings and lessons learned from working with young people.
