Dear fellow Compatriots,Following the United Nations Millennium Declaration which was adopted at the Millennium Summit held on 6th 8th Sept; 2000 in New York. Most of the involved countries of the world had tried all efforts in improving the social standards of their Youths, which Nigeria is not exempt. The World Bank has described poverty in Africa as "legendary" but in Nigeria it is also paradoxical because the country has all the resources to be one of the richest and most advanced in the world. But sadly, it is among the poorest 25; ironically, it is the 6th largest producer of oil in the world, yet the poorest OPEC country, which has been on top of the world-suffering index. The Country was and is perpetually poverty ridden due to unfaithfulness, unpatriotism and large scale
corruptions perpetrated by past leaders who vehemently derobed the country of it rightful position as one of richest nation on earth. Rather the country can only boost of her numerous natural and human resources which are becoming rotten and useless. Teeming Nigeria Youths see nothing wrong in the habit of perpetual corruption because it unduly increases materials and financial wealth of the perpetrators. This in turn yield escalated National Poverty level. Poverty manifests itself in the country in at least 6 ways, namely;1. Human Poverty 2. Physiological Deprivation 3. Income Poverty 4. Poor Macroeconomic performance 5. Negative Impact of Public Expenditure on Human Alleviation, and 6. Social Exclusion Poverty plays a central role in the bastardized of Nigerians abroad and at home. Education and Health, which hold the
key to the alleviation and eventual eradication of human poverty, have been neglected through Inadequate Investment, Poor Strategy, and even Poorer implementation of policies. The poverty conditions (situation) of Nigeria has been for a while frightening, that throughout the military rules and even civilians rules there are total and absolute neglection of the rights and fates of teeming Nigerian Youths which make it totally impossible to differentiate the lives of Nigeria Youth during the independence of 1960 and that of today, which remain the same and unchangeable. The situation was even better then than now. With over $310 per Capital income, the earning power and quality of Nigerians generally and youth in particular remained same from generation to generation as it were at the year of independence in 1960. Nigeria is the
Africa's most populous nation with over 150 million people. The General populace continues to confront serious challenges in Population and Youth Development, Empowerment and Employment. More than 60% of the entire populace constituted the Youth of the Country. Moral and Social decadences are threatening the image of Nigeria Youth more and more as never before. Every day Newspaper, Journals, Posters, Radio and Televisions' news, remarks and reports are absurd and disheartening. Ranging from Youth participating in ritual killing, murder, raping, robbery, hired killing, militia operation, advance fees fraud, Internet fraud etc. Therefore, Nigeria Youth Synergy (NYS) is form to mobilize Youth, sensitize them and get them inform for their right to Development, Empowerment and Employment and work against all these vices. Youth Synergy (NYS) is a youth led NGO (Non-Government Organization) into discovery and rediscovery of youthful talents and potentials as well as engaging fully the discovered and rediscovered talents. NYS was formed with Youth Developmental Goals, Focuses and Orientations. NYS as youth NGO is meant to be greatly involved in discovery and rediscovery of young and valuable talents as well as appropriate utilization of such talents.NIGERIA YOUTH SYNERGY (NYS) is a Youth Led Non Governmental Organization (Youth NGO) formed with Youthful Developmental Goals, Focuses and Orientations. NYS is also the coming together of visionary Youths with diverse experiences in diverse participations of Youth developmental programmes among different Youth Organizations, Societies and Clubs. NYS exists to acknowledge the contributions that
non-governmental youth organizations could make in improving dialogue and consultations, which can positively leads to improvement within the country at large and YOUTH empowerment. NYS aims to bring about the continuous re-orientation in the decayed ethic, moral and value system of our youth, mostly teens who are at the very formatting stage of their lives, clubs needed to be formed in their respective schools.NIGERIA YOUTH SYNERGY stands for the gathering of visionary youths living in Nigeria and in Diaspora with focus of bringing about positive changes to moral, social, ethic, culture and value systems of the country. Believably NYS holds the fact that; NO MATTER who we are, where we live, or what our live may be like, we all have a kind of legacy meant to bequeath unto those who follow after us. NIGERIANS were filled to the
brim even in the hearts with corruption, a LEGACY inherited from the front-runners of ours. Then, if we do not intentionally pass on a LEGACY of strong moral and Ethical values to our Youths and their own children, Nigeria's National CREED, CORRUPTION, will leave its own imprint in their formative minds. As a group, we need to take initiative and present our CREED to the teeming Youths of Nigeria. And the only way to combat corruption if solidly anchored this CREED to the dear country. NYS is designated to mobilize and help Nigeria Youths to develop themselves within the scope of the CREED of anti-corruption, anti-destructive acts and moral uprightness. These are what we intend to re-orientate Nigeria Youths with.What NYS aims at: Working towards actualization of United Nation Millennium
Development Goals (MDGs) for all Nigerian Youths. Encouraging proactive human resources through self-employment schemes. Encouraging Sharp reduction in the rate of Brain Drain to other countries. Full employment of productive resources (manpower). Increased level of productive & proactive entrepreneurships. Discouraging actives participation in Destructive Acts. Discouraging Human and Commodity trafficking by Youths. Building UNITED Nigeria in the Hearts of Nigerian Youths. Modifying reasonable acts in the hearts of Nigerian Youths. Distributed growth in
the Economic sector. Productive ICT growth for Nigeria Youths. Promotion of Youth Tourism in Nigeria.Please, in all ramifications your voice and opinions counted most. As visionary youths we are no longer in the era of individualism, our collectiveness can only effect positive changes. If not politicians will continued to loot this country's wealth. Our fates and those of our progenitors to come are on the hangman's nook let's strived to save it. Let your voices be heard and those of your friends who seek for better Nigeria.
