Its almost untrue that there are young men like you and I who still have the dream of the Nigerian project at Heart. May I say a big thank you for the initiative and also use this medium to inform you of our organisation's preparedness to participate.
Pls provide us details of the event.
Center for Empowerment and Educational Development(CEED) has as its core value; reduction of hunger as the bane for Peace, because according to our philosophy the crisis of the 'BELLE" is worse than World war.

Earth
Charter Youth Group Calabar, Nigeria was established as a member of the Earth
Charter Youth Initiative in October 2007 and strongly believes that urgent
action is required to bring about a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world
especially in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
Earth Charter youth Group Calabar, through a small grant from Earth Charter
International is
currently implementing the Earth Charter Youth Special project in the Niger
Delta states of Cross River, Delta and Rivers respectively in line with its
global objective that Earth Charter Youth
Groups all around the world organize events that engage youth and promote
dialogue and action for a more just, sustainable, and peaceful world.

Warri Township...March 5 2009, Port Harcout zone.

These areas were chosen because of their peculiarity
to the peace and conflict issues in the Niger Delta. Similar workshop on the
project title was conducted for youths in Calabar Metropolis in March 2008.
1. 1-Day
workshop on UNDERSTANDING AND DISCOVERING THE PURPOSE
OF EARTH CHARTER
IN ACHIEVING THE MDGs: TOWARDS ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY AND PEACE BULIDING
IN THE NIGER DELTA
The workshop involves different sessions on the Earth Charter,
Peace-Building and The MDGs with group discussions and work groups.
2. Peace Walk
and Road Show along major and strategic Streets in Port Harcourt and Warri
Metropolis
3. Production and
Distribution of 1000 IEC materials in local language (pidgin English)
4.
Dialogue with the Elders Forum: 1-day National Youth Meeting on
Intergenerational
Partnership for Sustainability with ECYI Nigeria and stakeholders in the Niger
Delta.
Aim/ Goal
1. To build youth leadership capacity
for promoting peace, sustainability and the Earth Charter in Nigeria.
2. To promote youth dialogue in
achieving the Millennium Development Goals and Peace building in Niger Delta of
Nigeria.
Objectives
·
To raise awareness about the Earth Charter among youths in Nigeria
especially in Niger Delta as a tool for achieving sustainable peace and
development
·
To bring more youths in Nigeria into the Earth Charter Youth Initiative
and stimulate the formation of New Earth Charter Youth Groups
·
To strengthen the existing Earth Charter Youth Initiative in Nigeria
·
To devise and design a comprehensive early warning system on impending
violence in the Niger Delta
·
Youth participation in Environmental Governance: Preparing the youths in
the next level of political leadership.
Expression of Interest
ECYG Calabar seeks to engage youths and youth led organizations with
interest in promoting a more sustainable, just and peaceful world at
participating in the One day workshop and peace rally

A one page motivation letter and a bio of youths from ages 15-35 and youth led
organizations interested in participating and partnering with this
special project
